Sturgeon Bay - Dinosaur Stomp
Annual Children’s Book Character Party
Dinosaurs will be the focus of the Friends of Door County Libraries’ Annual Children’s Party scheduled on Saturday, January 26, 12:30 to 2 p.m., at the Sturgeon Bay Library, 107 S. 4th Avenue. But it won’t be just any dinosaur – the party’s special guest (life-sized costumed character) will be a T Rex representing the entertaining prehistoric playmates featured in the “How Do Dinosaurs…” book series.
Published by Blue Sky Press/Scholastic Books and written by multiple award-winning author Jane Yolen with illustrations by Mark Teague, the book series features more than two dozen titles that help young ones learn life’s basic lessons through such charmingly instructive tales as “How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?” and “How Do Dinosaurs Play with Their Friends?”
As always this free event, which is geared for toddlers to early elementary-age children, will include read-aloud stories along with dinosaur-themed crafts and games, balloons and refreshments. This year marks the 18th annual party hosted by the Friends organization to celebrate popular characters from books for young readers and provide a lively, fun-filled afternoon in the midst of winter.
