The Friends of Door County Libraries is an organization of Door County Library supporters and is affiliated with both state and national friends’ groups. Volunteers provide year ‘round support for library programs and special needs, as well as coordination of book sales. They raise and provide funds for library programs and projects of interest to the entire community.
Membership is open to all.
What We Do
Encourage public support for the libraries' goals, activities & services
Promote use and awareness of Door County libraries
Provide volunteer services
Help Door County libraries acquire needed items and services
Raise funds for the Door County libraries through annual book sale and other means
Provide BookPage magazine at all library branches for patrons free of charge
The Friends of Door County Libraries help bring events like the Character Program that happens at Sturgeon Bay Library at the end of January each year, where we share a story time, enjoy crafts, and some simple snacks — and have a special book-themed guest like Curious George join the party (shown here).

How to Donate Materials for the Book Sale
Donations Accepted Monday-Friday 1:00-4:00pm
These items are sold back to the public through our book sales. Please only donate the items that you would be willing to buy yourself. We gladly ACCEPT donations of the following:
Children's Books
Hardcover Books
Paperbacks
DVDs
Music CDs
Items should be in good condition. Please DO NOT give us items that are:
Dirty
Moldy
Water damaged
Warped
Missing covers or pages
Stained with animal droppings or hair
Damaged bindings
No excessive writings, markings or highlighting
We DO NOT accept:
VHS tapes
Book/music cassette tapes
Encyclopedias
Magazines
Reader's Digest condensed books
Outdated (more than 5 years old):
Computer books
Tax guides
Almanacs
Law books
Training manuals
Textbooks
