Working with special needs individuals as an educational interpreter, sign language teacher, adaptive education teacher, tactile communication teacher and teacher's assistant., Mary jumped into authorship creating fabric artwork illustrations of kids books that aid parents and kids in discussing/under-standing difficult topics together:

Shelly RunteMichelle “Shelly” Runte
Author / Illustrator

Earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Microbiology at UW-Oshkosh and starting her career at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Human and Molecular Genetics Center, Runte didn’t know that her biggest research project would come to her in August of 2004 when her daughter Kayla was born and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. With the help of over 2000 volunteers, she created Kayla’s Playground —a 12,000 sq. ft. playground for children of all abilities. She also is a contributing author in Finding Your Voice: the Assertive & Empowered Woman and is currently working on writing a devotion for caregivers.


Coleen ZindaColeen Zinda

Compassionate, driven and inspirational, Zinda has spent the past 35 years dedicated to a career in healthcare. Helping to improve the quality of life of others has been a lifelong passion as well as encouraging others to be well, safe and independent. Currently, Zinda is the Director of Sales for Home Care Medical, a local home medical equipment company located in Southeastern Wisconsin.
