Community libraries within Door County, Wisconsin have been active since 1866. Several libraries combined to become branches of the Door County Library in 1953. Currently there are seven branches: Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Fish Creek, Forestville, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove, and Washington Island. The main Library is in Sturgeon Bay.
We offer books for children, teens and adults; audio books on CD, cassette, playaway and downloadable format; music on CD; software CD’s; magazines and newspapers; videos and DVD’s; computers with free Internet access; in-house and online reference and inter-library loan services; art prints; a toy library; and themed book bins for child care providers. In addition, we have free WiFi [wireless] Internet access at all of our libraries. There is a “Self Check” computer at the Sturgeon Bay, Sister Bay/ Liberty Grove and Baileys Harbor libraries.

FEES
Late materials are assessed a fee of 15 cents per item per day, to a maximum of $5 per item. Lost or damaged items incur a replacement charge. Renewals, checkouts and Internet access are denied if $5 or more is owed on a library account.

Limited AV equipment is also available for use with meetings.

Scheduled Library Board meetings: Meetings are currently scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. They are usually held at the Sturgeon Bay Library. Some variations may occur.

Friends: The Friends of Door County Libraries is an organization of DC Library supporters, and is affiliated with both state and national friends’ groups. Volunteers provide year ‘round support for library programs and special needs, as well as coordination of the summer book sale. They raise and provide funds for library programs and projects of interest to the entire community. Membership is open to all. Annual Dues: $ 5 for individuals, $ 10 for families.
